Selected programs and events that Mu Alpha Alpha has participated in during the current 2015-16 fiscal year:

  • Mu Alpha Alpha and Rho Iota Iota Chapters co-hosted the 2016 Southern California Area Founders Week banquet on November 19, 2016 in Long Beach, CA.
  • Brother Alvin Hayes (Mu Alpha Alpha) was the featured musical entertainer, Brother Eric Bell (Mu Alpha Alpha) was the keynote speaker and Brother Charles Saunders (Mu Alpha Alpha) was the event co-chair along with Brother Alonzo Duncan from Rho Iota Iota Chapter.
  • Participated in several chapter worship services including:
  • Second Baptist Church, Lake Forest, CA—Sunday, February 12, 2016
  • Christ Second Baptist Church, Long Beach, CA—Sunday, March 5, 2016 where Brother Welton Pleasant was honored for 6 years of service as Senior Pastor at Christ Second Baptist.
  •   College Endowment Fund

In accordance with National requirements for all Chapters to be financial and in good standing, Mu Alpha Alpha Contributed $300.00 to College Endowment Fund.

  • NAACP Membership

In accordance with National requirements for all Chapters to be financial and in good standing, Mu Alpha Alpha has maintained its long-standing membership with the Long Beach, CA Branch of the NAACP.International Talent Hunt

  • International Talent Hunt

On April 1, 2016, the Brothers of Mu Alpha Alpha Chapter hosted their SoCal Area Talent Hunt Contest. The event was held in Long Beach, CA at Christ Second Baptist Church and was well attended. With Brothers as judges and outstanding talent, the Chapter was able to award 1st place winner Krystell Ewing $500.00, Krystell played piano, 2nd place winner Armand Hart, who is a singer received $200.00, and 3rd place winner Jewell Holloway Jr., also a singer received $100.00 totaling $800.00 dollars in scholarship monies to our Talent Hunt participants.

  • EMBODI – Mayfield High School

On the 2nd Saturday of each month throughout the school year, the Brothers of Mu Alpha Alpha Chapter and the sisters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Cerritos Alumnae Chapter meet at Mayfair High School located at 6000 North Woodruff Avenue, Lakewood, CA 90713 to participate in the EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) program. EMBODI is designed to refocus the efforts of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Brothers Kalonji Saterfield instructed Career Development and Terry Pritchett entrepreneurship and saving.
